By default the Zune software will not accept or transcode DiVX, XViD, and MPEG files with .AVI extensions. Zune Scene forum members have developed a couple ways to circumvent the problem, the simplest is a registry hack that will allow the videos to be added to the Zune software:

After importing this file to the registry DiVX files can be dragged and dropped into the software. The files can then be synced with the Zune device which will force the Zune software to transocode the files to the native .WMV format and allow them to be played on the Zune.

Zune HD´s Browser USER AGENT (HTTP_USER_AGENT) reply

The zune is suppose to have one of the best mobile browsers ever made by microsoft. Or at least that´s what I though. So the moment I got it I had it hit my server to see what it was responding as.

The HTTP_USER_AGENT RETURNS THE FOLLOWING LINE:

Yes. Zune HD 4.1 (my Zune came in as 4.0 but the moment it synced it upgraded to 4.1 I guess zune 4.0 sucked)

Zunes are sold out. In best buy. But not Walmart

Having saved for a while and brimming with anticipation I headed to best buy where I was ready to buy my new Zune HD 32GIG. I showed up and the Best Buy representative almost died laughing when I asked if I could get a 32Gig version. "Alright then I´ll take a 16 Gig version if I have to". "Nope, we had 9 of them and they sold out an hour after we opened".

Well I can always get the new Zune Originals which are zune´s that come in 4 different colors and are laser etched with your comments or your favourite MLS team?

But no. I said. I want it NOW! So with my tail between my legs do I go to Walmart to be told the same right? Well the Walmart electronics rep looks funny at me when I mention "Zune HD" He says. I don´t know about HD. but we do have Zunes over there. Not hopping for much I look and as you can see. I see 9 ...yes NINE Zune HD´s just looking back at me pretty much BEGGIN G ME TO SELL THEM ON EBAY TO ANYONE THAT DIDN´T REALIZE Best buy SUCKS but WALMART ROCKS!!!!



P.S. Don´t forget about the Zune Dock trick? What´s that? Oh you didn´t know you could get a $10 AV Zune Dock that will display your video on your TV (in standard definition) ??? without paying the $89 for the Full HD Zune AV DOCK???
